As driving time increases, the chances of a vehicle accident also increase. Even after repairs, these issues can leave a DTC (DTC) on the vehicle’s computer. The LAUNCH X431 tool can reset the module information on the vehicle’s computer and clear DTCs.
In this example, a BMW iX3 was involved in an accident on the front right side of the vehicle. After repairs, the vehicle still displays a “Cross-collision warning fault.” We will use the LAUNCH X431 PAD V ELITE to reset the short-range radar sensor correction angle to clear the DTC.
Function description: For BMW iX3, there is a DTC 481CFB SRSNVR “Misalignment – Side Radar Sensor Short Range Front Right”. The function of “short-range radar sensor: reset correction angle” needs to be performed.
NOTE: The steps in this article apply to situations where the vehicle has been repaired but the onboard computer still reports an error and the DTC has not been cleared. If the vehicle has a component failure, please repair the vehicle first.

Procedure:
1. Connect the vehicle and perform a quick scan. There is a DTC 481CFB SRSNVR “Misalignment – Side Radar Sensor Short Range Front Right”. On the diagnostic results page, choose [Special Function].
2. Choose [Driver Assistance] -> [Short Range Radar Sensors: Reset Correction Angle].
3. Click [F1].
4. The short-range radar has been correctly fixed. Click [Yes].
5. Choose [F3.SRSNVR – Side Radar Sensor Near Range Front Right].
6. The selected short-range radar sensor correction angle has been successfully reset. Click [Continue].
7. Save the fault report. There is no DTC.
After these operations are completed, you can drive the vehicle, and the vehicle learns the horizontal correction angle of the short-range radar sensor during driving.
