For some reason, the LAUNCH X431 tool cannot be used for key programming in America, Spain, and Portugal. The solution is to use a suitable VPN to switch the network to other regions. This article will explain how to do this.
Note: The software used in this example is “OpenVPN Connect”. If the user is already using other VPN software, they can also configure and use it by themselves. This article introduces the VPN configuration for PAD V / PAD VII / PRO5. Other models of X431 devices can also refer to this step.
1. Connect X431 PAD VII or PRO 5 to PC via USB cable.
2. Enter X431 PAD VII or PRO 5 [Setting] -> [USB Management], close the USB Switch.
3. Slide down the screen, open the drop-down menu (can also be opened through Setting -> USB Preference), select [USB file transfer turned on], select [USB transfer].
4. Open [My Computer], select PAD VII or PRO 5, and copy “Singapore.ovpn” into any folder of PAD VII or PRO 5 (note: remember the path and folder name).
5. Run Google Play Store in X431 PAD VII or PRO 5, search “OpenVPN Connect” and finish install.
6. Run “OpenVPN Connect” APP，select the folder which you have saved [Singapore.ovpn] file.
7. Select [Singapore.ovpn] file.
8. Select [Connect after import]，select [ADD].
9. Note: Allow Compression (insecure) select Full.
