The LAUNCH X431 diagnostic tool can clear vehicle body collision data. This article will demonstrate how to perform this function using the Ford Kuga model as an example.
Body Control Module (BCM) Collision Data Clearing Function Introduction:
After a collision, this function clears the collision data records stored in the Body Control Module so that the vehicle can be restored to its factory default state (“No Collision” or “Repaired”) after repair.
This function involves the vehicle’s safety systems. Before performing this operation, it must be ensured that the vehicle’s collision-related components (such as airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, sensors, etc.) have been inspected and replaced to be in good working order by a professional mechanic. Otherwise, after clearing the data, the safety systems may not function properly in the next collision, posing a serious safety hazard.
Devices that support this feature: LAUNCH X431 PRO3 series, X431 PAD series. This article uses X431 PAD9 for demonstration.
