When a yellow/red exclamation mark appears on the Porsche dashboard, accompanied by the text “Spoiler unavailable,” the spoiler needs repair. After the repair, the DTC (Disturbance Troubleshooting Code) in the vehicle’s computer will not disappear. At this point, you can use the LAUNCH X431 diagnostic tool to perform the spoiler adaptation function and clear the fault codes.
This article will introduce how to use LAUNCH X431 PAD9 to perform the spoiler adaptation function on a 2017 Porsche Panamera.
Function Description:
When DTC B16F854 “Rear Spoiler, Drive 1- Calibration” is present on Porsche Panamera, the rear spoiler adaptation function needs to be performed.
Tested Model: Porsche – Panamera – 2017
Supported equipment: LAUNCH X431 PRO series, X431 PRO3 series, X431 PRO5, and X431 PAD series. The current one for Demo is X431 PAD9.
Operation Procedure:
1) Connect the vehicle to the X431 device, click [Intelligent Diagnose], confirm that the vehicle model information is correct, and click [OK]. NOTE: If the [Intelligent Diagnose] option fails to scan the vehicle information, you can click [Local Diagnose] and manually select the vehicle model.
2) The DTC B16F854 “Rear Spoiler, Drive 1- Calibration” is detected in the spoiler system. Click [Fault Repair].
3) Click [Actuation Test] -> [Rear Spoiler, Adapting].
4) On the function page, click [Actuated]. The rear spoiler will open and then close.
5) After the function is completed, check if the problem has been resolved:
There is no DTC in the rear spoiler system.
No malfunction message is displayed on the dashboard.
The problem was successfully resolved.
