Today I’m gonna show how to add a smart key for 2013-2018 Toyota RAV4 with Launch X431 PRO ELITE by OBD. Since I’ve had the working key and new key at hands, let’s get start.
Service Function >> Immobilizer Reset >> OK >> OK
If the execution of this special function menu is unsuccessful, please enter the Intelligent Diagnosis or Traditional Diagnosis and then enter the Specific Vehicle Special Function or Actuation Test to perform the required functions.
OK >> TOYOTA
Switch on ignition.
16PIN DLC(North America) >> w/Smart Key >> OK
If communication abnormality occurs during the test, please ensure whether the vehicle is equipped with other parts. If other parts are installed, you can try to remove the parts and then perform the test.
OK >> SMK(Smart Key)
This ECU controls keyless entry and starting engine with the detection smart key.
Special Function >> Smart Code Registration(Classic) >> OK
X431 PRO ELITE Note:
This function is used to register the immobiliser portion of smart keys.
Confirm the following conditions:
Power/engine switch is ON(IG).
Smart Cancel function is OFF.
OK >> I am juset registering keys
Remaining number of keys that can be registered: 3
Number of keys currently registered: 1
Touch the power/engine switch with a registered key, make sure the emblem side is facing the IG SW.
The smart code was checked.
If you want to register another key, touch the power/engine switch with the key you would like to register. Then press Register when finished.
Smart code registration is complete.
Press OK to register another Smart Code or press Cancel to exit this function.
Remaining number of keys that can be registered: 2
Number of keys currently registered: 2
Test the new key, it can work!
