Here I’m gonna show how to add a mechanical key for 2018 Toyota Camry with LAUNCH X431 IMMO PLUS + X431 Key Programmer. To add more keys, you should have a main working key. It’s very simple and can be done in a few minutes. You can follow the same procedure if having a X431 IMMO ELITE or IMMO PRO instead.
Step1. Key Generation
- Update software to latest version;
- Read & remember original key info;
- Detect original key frequency
- Generate remote

Put the new key into Launch X431 Key Programmer slot.
Press “Generate”.
Key generation is successful.
Step2. Key Adding
IMMO >> TOYOTA >> Immobilizer/ Keys Programming >> Vehicle mode >> Other region >> CAMRY >> -2018 >> Mechanical key >> Type 5(with G 72) >> Add key
To clear or add other keys, one main key must be available.
How to identify main and sub keys?
After a key is inserted into the ignition switch:
if the immobilizer lamp(security) is not on, the key is a main key.
If the immobilizer lamp turns on for 1s and then turn off, the key is a sub key.
Insert the matched main key, turn on the ignition switch.
Insert the key to be matched and keep ignition off.
Wait for about 60s until the immobilizer lamp turns off.
Matching is complete.
Remote type 2 >> Remote Control Matching
Turn ignition switch on, open driver side door.
Simultaneously press lock and unlock button for 4s, then press unlock button for 1s.
Test the new key.
All done.
