How to do 2022 Honda HR-V EPB(Electronic Parking Brake) maintenance with Launch X431 diagnostic scanners? This is working with Launch X431 Pad 7 as example, other tools like X431 PRO ELITE, X431 PRO5 can follow the same procedure.
Step1. System Scan
Local diagnose >> Honda >> OKAY >> 16PIN DLC >> OK >> System Scan >> System List >> ABS(Anti-Lock Braking System)
Caution!
ABS control unit will quit communication above 50km/h(30mph).
Please record or print the ECU ID on this page which is useful for you to query after-market service center.
Step2. Electronic Parking Brake Maintenance
Special function >> OK
Note:
When executing the following functions, PHEV, FHEV and RLX Hybrid vehicles must be put into maintenance mode for the engine to run. Refer to the service manual for detailed instructions.
Brake PAD maintenance mode >> OK
This function is used in rear brake PAD maintenance.
Please refer to the service manual for the work procedure.
Enter brake PAD maintenance mode
Check that the following conditions are fulfilled:
Release the parking brake
Stop the vehicle
Battery voltage is over 10.0[V].
Do you want to execute PAD exchange mode? OK
Please wait a moment…
Execution time takes about 25s at the maximum.
Transition to PAD exchange mode has been completed.
Perform rear brake PAD maintenance.
When the PAD maintenance is completed, you must return to the normal mode in order to return the PAD to the original position.
Proceed the rear brake pad replace…
Press “OK”.
Back to normal mode >> OK
Check that the following conditions are fulfilled:
Release the parking brake
Stop the vehicle
Battery voltage is over 10.0[V].
Do you want to return the PAD to the normal state? OK
Please wait a moment…
Execution time takes about 25s at the maximum.
PAD was moved to its original position.
This function procedure is finished.
Operate the parking brake for test.
